Hi! I’m Essi, a Finnish illustrator currently based in Glasgow, Scotland. I studied BA Illustration at the Glasgow School of Art, from where I graduated in 2011.
I create bright and playful illustrations, combining textures, whimsical shapes, and limited yet vibrant colour palettes. My work has been used in a variety of fields from editorial and publishing to stationary and packaging.
My favourite themes to draw are food, animals (especially cats and dogs!), people, and nature.
I create most of my work digitally, but love to add a handmade touch to my illustrations with texture brushes. I mostly use my own Procreate brushes that I’ve also made available for other texture lovers. You can find them here!
